I am a qualified teacher with 28 years of experience in education.

I spent my first 10 years working as a class teacher, subject coordinator and team leader in a special needs school for young people with complex learning needs and neurodevelopmental conditions .

I have spent the last 18 years working as a Specialist Teacher in a child and adolescent mental health service. I support young people who have an autism or ADHD diagnosis, or who are on the pathway to an assessment, to promote their social and educational inclusion to maintain their attendance and access to education.

I help young people and their families understand their conditions; consider the impact on their education; give them strategies to manage any difficulties in school and provide information, advice and support to schools.
